The week before Memorial Day Weekend is generally a snoozer for real estate, with folks distracted with end-of-the-school-year activities and vacations. Not so this week in the Heights. INTEREST RATE UPDATE

Mortgage rates decreased for the second week in a row, according to a report released Thursday, as the U.S. economy faces multiple headwinds and, nationally, the housing market shows signs of slowing for the first time in years. Since hitting a 2022 peak of 5.3% during the week ending May 12, rates on 30-year fixed-rate mortgages have fallen by 20 basis points, averaging 5.1% during the week ending May 26. However, the Fed has signaled an intent to increase interest rates by half a percentage point in June and July.
