Becky's Best Bungalow Bets for Feb 6, 2022: Top 5 + Fun Facts

Hello BBBB Friends:

Brrrr! Stay warm out there! I have selected 5 new listings to feature today.  For price changes, new contracts, and final sales for homes that are Still on My List keep scrolling down.

PROP TAX TIPS

Even if you aren’t a member of the Houston Heights Association, you should definitely attend the monthly General Meetings on the 2nd Monday of every month at 6:30 PM at the Fire Station (107 W. 12th) for tons of news you can use. January’s meeting was especially valuable with HCAD reps present to talk taxes. Watch the full presentation here: https://fb.watch/aTG16-8Xo4/ Here are the top two tips from the tax (wo)man’s office to act on BY 4/30 for exemptions to apply to this year’s tax bill:

➡️Don’t assume you automatically have Homestead Exemption on your primary residence! You only have to apply once, but it’s common for folks to forget after all of the stress of buying a new home. To apply, your driver’s license must match your property address.

➡️The Over 65 Exemption also requires that you apply when the time is right, but you can actually apply at the beginning of the year in which you turn 65, no matter when your birthday is!

Any other tax Qs? We may have As. Give me a call!

Let’s go look at houses or talk about selling yours!!!
